Faith is not a light which scatters all our darkness, but a lamp which guides our steps in the night and suffices for the journey. To those who suffer, God does not provide arguments which explain everything; rather, his response is that of an accompanying presence, a history of goodness which touches every story of suffering and opens up a ray of light.”
- Pope Francis, Lumen Fidei, June 29, 2013
It is obvious that there is a lot of darkness in our world. If we look only at the darkness, it is easy to be led to despair. The Church, all people of faith, no matter what religion they profess need to be a light in the world. The light of faith will not erase the darkness, but it will serve as a beacon for those who struggle in the dark. An important question of faith is, “how can we, as people of faith, be a light in our world today?” Fr. John
