May the Wind of Pentecost blow upon the work of the Synod, on the Church, and on the whole of humanity. May it untie the knots that prevent people from encountering one another, heal the wounds that bleed, and rekindle much hope; there are so many people without hope! May we be granted this creative charity that allows one to love as Jesus loved. And may our message reclaim the vivacity and enthusiasm of the first missionaries of the Gospel.
- Pope Francis - Address of the Meeting on the Family, Oct. 4, 2014
We do not speak often enough or rely often enough on the “Wind of the Holy Spirit’ It was active on that first Pentecost and continues to remain active in our world and in our Church today. The recent Synod on the Family is one example of the Spirit moving in the Church. How can we use the fruits of this Synod to bring hope, to the people in the pews, and especially to those who are no longer in the pews? People are in search of hope. We have the gift of hope. How can we bring the two together? - Fr. John
